Six Chinese Cities to Launch TD-SCDMA Commercial Trials in Late 2006

According to Sina, China's NDRC (National Development and Reform Commission) and Ministry of Information Industry, have reached a consensus to build a commercial TD-SCDMA trial network in six Chinese cities by the end of 2006, including Tianjin, Shanghai, Qingdao, Qinhuangdao, Shenyang, and Hong Kong. This trial network will enable an approximately of 20,000 selected subscribers to experience 3G services prior to the commercialization of the services. TD-SCDMA is currently undergoing the third round of test, which will be completed in late September.
